The second phase of the Med Cooperation programme is developed through the following main components:

1. Architectonic Cultural Heritage
2. Local Economic Development and territorial marketing
3. Involvement of civil society (youth in particular)
4. Communication, awareness and promotion

1. Architectonic Cultural Heritage
- Design of interventions for the rehabilitation and valorisation of historical buildings in the towns of Tulkarem, Taibeh and Nablus and realisation of first rehabilitation works.
- Establishment of exhibition rooms for traditional productions inside the historical buildings.
- Training of Israeli and Palestinian trainers in Italy focused on the rehabilitation and valorisation of the Architectonic Cultural Heritage buildings.
- Training courses in Middle East addressed to youth focused on the rehabilitation and valorisation of the Architectonic Cultural Heritage.

2. Local Economic Development and Territorial Marketing
- Mapping of local traditional products existing along the Northern Cultural Heritage Way.
- Training of Israeli and Palestinian trainers in Italy focused on quality improvement, promotion and commercialisation of traditional handcrafts and food products at local, national and regional level.
- Local exhibitions to promote and market local traditional food and non-food products.

3. Civil Society involvement (youth in particular)
- Public seminars addressed to local authorities, cultural and environmental associations, universities, private organisations of the territories administrated by the partner municipalities.
- Training courses in Middle East addressed to young entrepreneurs focused on valorisation and promotion of local traditional food- and non-food products.
- Training of social educators and activation of “focus groups” in the six municipalities partner of the programme.
- Implementation of summer camps in Tuscany for Middle Eastern youngsters coming from secondary schools.

4. Communication, awareness and promotion
- Design of a new Med Cooperation promotional tools including: restyling of Med Cooperation logo, design and production of a new brochure, design and production of promotional gadgets (stickers, label, hand bags, etc.)
- New design of Med Cooperation web site (www.medcooperation.org) and implementation of its constant update through the contribution of each programme partner.
- Elaboration of periodical newsletter giving information about the programme progress.
- Design of a guide for the promotion of the Northern Holy Land Cultural Heritage Way.
- Awareness and information campaigns in Middle East focused on the programme subjects.
- Participation to international exhibitions and fairs through a Med Cooperation stand for the promotion of food and non-food traditional products coming from the Northern Holy Land Cultural Heritage Way.

Multiplier effects
In the framework of the decentralised cooperation set-up by Med Cooperation, the programme aims also at enhancing and strengthening the direct relations already existing among some partner municipalities. Among them it is possible to mention the direct cooperation started between Pisa and Akko municipalities already twinned. Pisa municipality engaged some extra funds to support interventions in the Pisan quarter in Akko.

Other possible direct cooperation activities are under evaluation among the following local authorities:

- San Giovanni Valdarno Municipality – Jericho Municipality
- Pistoia Province – Tulkarm Municipality
- Pistoia Province – Taybeh Municipality
